LAST BALLET CLASS
This week I had my last ballet lesson of the year, and it felt both joyful and a little uncertain. I recently received my 7-year ballet diploma—and I was incredibly proud to earn 10 out of 10 in all the assessment criteria. It was such a rewarding way to wrap up the year. During the class, I felt calm and focused, fully aware that this might be my last time dancing in the studio with this group. I’m not sure if I’ll come back next year to continue toward the 10-year diploma, especially since 12th grade will be a busy and demanding time. Still, it was a beautiful way to end the season, and I left feeling really proud of what I’ve achieved.
This moment ties into several CAS learning outcomes. I demonstrated perseverance and commitment, having dedicated myself to ballet for so many years and reaching a major milestone with my diploma. The experience also encouraged reflection, as I thought about how ballet has shaped me—not just physically, but emotionally and mentally. Whether or not I continue, I know ballet has taught me discipline, focus, and the value of consistent effort. It was a quiet but meaningful ending to something that has been a huge part of my life.
