My First Solo in The Snow Queen
This week, I stepped out of my comfort zone and danced a solo in The Snow Queen for the first time. I’ve been part of ballet productions before, but I’ve never performed alone on stage. The thought of having all eyes on me was both exciting and nerve-wracking. Rehearsals were intense, requiring hours of perfecting technique and refining my expression to truly bring my character to life. The biggest challenge was overcoming self-doubt and embracing my stage presence, but with the help of my instructor and repeated practice, I started to feel more confident. When the performance night finally arrived, my nerves melted away the moment the music started. I let the rhythm guide me, and as I danced under the stage lights, I felt a rush of exhilaration and freedom.
Through this experience, I achieved several CAS learning outcomes. I developed new skills by working on my technique and emotional expression in a way I hadn’t before. I also demonstrated perseverance and commitment by pushing past my fears and putting in the effort to refine my solo. Most importantly, this experience reminded me of the power of storytelling through movement and the importance of believing in myself. Performing a solo for the first time was a challenge, but it was also an unforgettable moment that has inspired me to continue growing as a dancer.
