My Christmas Ballet Recital
This past weekend, I performed in our Christmas recital, and it was a great experience. I danced two pieces: Waltz of the Flowers from The Nutcracker and Walpurgis Night Ballet from Faust. Each dance presented its own challenges, but stepping onto the stage in full costume brought them to life in a way that made all the rehearsals worthwhile. Waltz of the Flowers was all about elegance and flow, while Walpurgis Night demanded energy and bold expression. Performing them in front of an audience was thrilling and by the end, I felt proud of what I had accomplished.
Through this experience, I achieved several CAS learning outcomes. I identified my strengths and areas for growth, recognizing where I needed to work on fluidity in my movements and synchronization with the music. I demonstrated perseverance and commitment by attending extra rehearsals to perfect the pieces, ensuring I could give my best performance. Additionally, I learned the importance of collaboration, as dancing in an ensemble required us to move as one cohesive unit, relying on trust and teamwork to bring the choreography to life.
